5.0 out of 5 stars Best grill for the price, June 6, 2010
This review is from: Char Broil K6B 6-Burner 65,000 BTU Gas Grill, with Sideburner (Lawn & Patio)
I saw this grill at Walmart for $295 and, even though im single and live alone, i felt the need to buy the largest grill in the store. The first thing you notice about this grill is IT IS HUGE!. You could easily have a bbq for a large group of people with this grill, so if your on a budget and like to entertain in the summer, this is definitely the way to go. After getting the box home and opening it up you will stare at the parts and say to yourself "what did i get myself in to". I think i could have had it assembled for free but i wanted it right then and there. Actually it only took me 1.5 hours to put the whole thing together, so assembly is not that bad. Considering though that i am a mechanical engineer i would hope i could put a grill together... Once assembled, i grabbed a few porkchops and threw them on. If you have never used an infrared searing burner before, YOU NEED TO. This grill easily produced the juiciest pork chops i have ever made. I have used full infrared... Read more

***UPDATE.... over year later...rust, rust, rust! I bought great cover yet all heat tents badly rusted, $9.99 x 5 to replace, worst is the grease tray rusted a hole straight through but I only noticed after the whole thing fell out from under the grill while I was cooking. $29.99 to replace...

Great buy and find! I had been looking to buy a Brinkmann 5 burner at Walmart for 390.00 when I looked up high on a stock shelf in the garden area and seen this 6 burner for 290.00. There was not one placed on the floor for display so I called my husband and asked him to look into the model number listed on the box. We found limited info online on them, they just were released in Jan 2010. So it was a shot in dark not even seeing the grill displayed, we called countless Walmarts) no one had any assembled on display. Also, Walmart does not even show online they sell this Char-Broil) So after debating on the cheaper bigger version we decided to buy it. When we returned to Walmart to... Read more

This grill went together in less than 2 hours and cooks the food very evenly. We love the searing burner and appreciate all the cooking space on the grill. This product is well worth the cost. We would would buy it again. You can't go wrong with this one! We recommend it to be a super deal at the price.

This review is from: Char-Broil 2984810 Sure Fire Electric Charcoal Starter (Lawn & Patio)
There is no easier, more hassle-free way to start a charcoal fire than by using one of these. As long as you have access to an electric outlet somewhere in the vicinity of your grill, you'd be foolish to use any other method.

You place the heating element on the grate, with the plastic handle resting on the barbecue's edge. Cover the element with your briquettes, plug it in, wait 12 minutes, and then remove it. By that time, any charcoals that were in contact with the red-hot element will have started. Mound up the coals, wait a few more minutes, and you're good to go. No smelly, dangerous lighter fluids, no chimneys, no newspapers. What could be more simple?

The electric cord is quite short, so if your outlet isn't close by you'll have to use an extension cord. Just make sure it is a heavy duty one - like the kind used for power tools.

It's quite durable if used correctly. I bought the one I have now 6 or 7 years ago and I use it at least 30 or so... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Just don't leave it under the charcoal!!!, June 25, 2004

This starter is wonderful. But don't get lazy and leave it under the charcoal, like I did. You need to remove it after the fire starts. The plastic near the cord melts and the thing is ruined. I am ordering another one because I find I don't want to start charcoal without one.

this is the best charcoal starter we have ever used. the last one purchased is still working but is over ten years old and is used regularly every summer. I just purchased a new one as a back-up, but may not need it for a long time. Very reliable and very easy and safe to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Smoking (With WHEELS!!), February 17, 2010
By
This review is from: Cajun Injector Electric Smoker (Sports)
Note: to those concerned with rear wheels, the same model comes without rear wheels under the "Masterbuilt" brand. I was told by a local sporting goods store that "Cajun Injector" bought out Masterbuilt and that they are the same smoker. I was pleased that for the price of $199 at the sporting good store it included the wheels. Here in SD it is 20-25 Degrees, the machine is able to reach the target temp (250 for ribs). I feel that under the harsh weather conditions that this out performs expectations. If your new to smoking check out the book "Backyard BBQ: The Art of Smokology", which is very informative.

This is a fine smoker for the money. Just don't try to contact customer service for fast help. The help number in the owner's manual is wrong it should be 800-299-9082. But even without any help from them it is still a good smoker.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, May 30, 2010
This review is from: Cajun Injector Electric Smoker (Sports)
The unit has nice features and work great the first three times I used it. On the fourth use it ran for about an hour then quit heating. The shelf holding brackets are very sharp. I cut myself twice cleaning it up after use. Look for a unit that you can replace the heating element and that is easier to clean.
